This model is made for conventional reels rated up to PE5 which gives you room to fish up to 22lbs of drag at 45 degrees. It excels at a variety of depths and current ranges for speed jigging styles so whether you're targeting grouper in 400 feet of water or suspended yellowtail this will do a great job imparting an action and giving you the pulling power needed to land them. The jig range is 180-280g so the style of jig you use will impact action, tungsten jigs are especially great on this rod because it has a slower recoil for the lower overall size of semilong and tungsten jigs.
