Daiwas Saltist series spinning reels, introduced in 2016, represent an update of their older 2009 product of the same name. Very good update and upgrade. Now the reels offer enhancements which were only available on their most expensive Saltiga spinners. The Saltist spinners are dedicated saltwater reels thats the difference between the new BGs and the Saltist series. The Saltist reels incorporate the better anti-corrosion CRBB bearings, and much more.
One step down from the Saltiga series spinning reels, the Saltists are made for serious saltwater enthusiasts. They are made for a harsh environment with more anti-corrosion protection than less expensive reels in the Daiwa lineup. With the rugged and durable reputation earned by the Saltist series, these reels offer some impressive features. Fist among these is the Magsealed main shaft, eliminating saltwater intrusion. The reels offer a Magsealed line roller and CRBB corrosion resistant ball bearings for long lasting smoothness and performance. Beyond the Magsealed main shaft and line roller, these new reels offer Daiwas HardBodyz body and side cover metal with protective finish. You get the benefits of the light weight Air Rotor design, Air Bail tubular stainless for lightweight strength. Digigear design and dynamic cut aluminum ABS spool.
