The Model 14A is a large jig designed for big game fish. Drop the heavy version 100-300 ft. and retrieve at high speed. It is designed to sink fast and have an erratic swim on the retrieve. The light version is perfect for long casts to boiling tuna and surface yellowtail.

Some years ago, back in about 2004 Tadys #15 and 77 were their largest jigs (and 20 years before that they had one even larger the BCL). The heavy 15 in blue chrome was a favorite among long range anglers targeting big yellowfin tuna. One of our clients landed a fish over 270 lbs on one of those jigs. The 77s were a surface lure, and a good one. Both of those jigs went away over 10 years ago, and now they are essentially back with the introduction of Tadys 14A. These are 7 inch long lures, available in two weights, the light iron is 3.75 ounces, the heavies are 8.5 oz. We will stock two of their heavy tuna jigs, a lumo/glow and a blue/chrome with glow back. Back 10 years, it was the big Tady and the Salas PL68 that got the attention of the long range tuna guys (and fish), but for the past decade Salas PL68s really had no competition among those fishing cows on iron. Now theres an option, and a good one at that. And, going a step further, with the larger heavy and light versions (w/treble hooks) weve got another great lure to toss at yellowtail (and of course other fish).
